FleetCor Announces Card Integration Deal with ExxonMobil
ATLANTA (October 14, 2004) - FleetCor, the Fleet Card Company, is pleased to announce it has reached an agreement with ExxonMobil Corporation that will allow its retailers to accept the Fuelman card at the pump. The Fuelman Fleet Card authorizes, controls and tracks fleet fueling and maintenance purchases and is accepted at over 30,000 locations nationwide.
When the acceptance project is complete early next year, all of the 1,450 Exxon and Mobil sites that currently accept the Fuelman card will be able to accept Fuelman transactions through their existing point-of-sale equipment. Furthermore, the remaining ExxonMobil locations will be able to accept the card immediately upon entering into a direct agreement with FleetCor. Currently, the stations can only accept the Fuelman card using POS equipment supplied by FleetCor inside the store - making the purchasing process less convenient for drivers paying with Fuelman cards. Using this integrated technology, the Fuelman device can be removed from the countertop, freeing valuable space for other merchandising or promotional purposes.
"FleetCor is proud to be associated with these two marquee brands, Exxon and Mobil," commented Steve Harned, Senior Vice President for Merchant Technology. "This agreement benefits customers and distributors alike - providing more convenience to drivers when purchasing products with the Fuelman card and getting them back on the road sooner. Additionally, it provides an incentive for additional Exxon and Mobil stations to join the growing list of Fuelman-accepting sites."
